Dueling Pianos

Join pianists Julian Loida and Matt Hutchinson as they perform together on dueling pianos in our beautiful South Lounge. They will be playing pieces from the Beatles to a range of pop and Motown works as well as original pieces. These extraordinary pianists will perform most Fridays and Saturdays in May from 5pm to 7pm. This event is complimentary and open to the public, members and guests of the Inn. 

About the musicians:

Julian Loida: Called “one of the Boston music scene's most valuable players” by The Art Fuse, Julian Loida is a percussionist, composer, and producer. His musical curiosity and open-mind have propelled him towards a wide-range of sounds, genres, and artistic endeavors. He’s performed jazz, folk and classical, collaborating with dancers, visual artists, songwriters/composers, and musicians. The thirst to participate in and experience this range of sounds is partly a product of Loida’s synesthesia. Music is a full- body experience for him, with sounds often invoking involuntary sensations of color, texture, or even taste.

Matthew Hutchinson: Matthew has been playing piano since childhood and professionally since his teenage years. He recently relocated to Cape Cod from New York City where he played in funk and soul bands in clubs around the city while absorbing the vast creative music and culture scene. Matthew has also lived and performed in Berlin where he joined several projects playing jazz as well as performing Afrobeat music under the tutelage of a former member of Fela Kuti’s band.
